I started with casting on 41 stitches instead of 31 because the yarn is thinner. Knit about 10cm (4 inches), but didn’t like it - too narrow!
Frogged everything and started again with casting on 51 stitches, which is much better. Has almost the width of the model scarf. This should become an ample shawl to keep me toasty warm on polar mornings!

Almost at end of first skein, but paused a long time because of finishing other projects.

At end of first skein: 45cm long, so finished scarf should have around 135cm.
Second Skein done and half through the third. And the first snow arrived, finally! Wonderful squishy fabric, just wondering if I should block it, it’s already quite large.
And still not sure if Fisherman’s rib counts as brioche… o.O
January 31, 2016
Shawl finished, washed and blocked, which made it ca. 40cm longer. But also less squishy now. Pics will follow, as I’m currently trying to knit a matching hat - without hat pattern…result: hat still not finished after 2 weeks, it became the “hat of many beginnings”…. * grumble *
March 12, 2016
Gave up with the hat, too much work at work for having the patience to figure out on my weekends how to alter my own hat pattern - and spring is almost here! Maybe adding hat next winter.
But I’m happy with the shawl! For those of you wanting to wet block this yarn as extensively as I did, keep in mind: the squishiness will be gone! Next time I would probably rather live with a shorter but more squishy shawl than a longer and thinner one. :)
Material used: In total I used up 2.7 skeins = 567.0 yards (518.4 meters), 270 grams of yarn to get final scarf, which is now (after wet blocking) 180cm (70.8 inch) long and 38cm (15 inch) wide.
