Doing the border in seed st… taking forever!
I can get this pattern on my Mac, but not my PC… weird. (see below)
02/11/12 - Just finished the front. Thinking of using fabric for the back…
Arg. just knitted the back… sooooooo boring! Happy that I will never have to look at that year again!
Size: Finished size approximately 20” square.
Materials: Worsted-weight yarn Berella ‘4’(100% acrylic, 3 1/2 oz/100g skein, 240 yds) by Bernat: 2 skeins #8933 Scarlet (A) and 1 skein #8912 Pearl Grey (B); small amount of dark grey and black. Size 6 (4.25 mm) knitting needles or size needed to obtain Gauge. Crochet hook size I/9 (5.5mm); 2 ring markers, yarn needle; 16”-square pillow form.
Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows = 4” in St st. To save time, take time to check your gauge.
Notes
Following chart, work RS rows from right to left, and WS rows, from left to right. When changing colors, pick up new color from under previous color and twist to prevent holes. Work chart using colors A and B only. Accent colors are worked last in duplicate stitch and embroidery.
Pillow
Back
With A, cast on 80 sts. Work in St st (k 1 row, p 1 row) for 16”. Bind off all sts.
Front
With A, cast on 100 sts. Work in Garter st (k every row), for 19 rows.
Next Row: (WS) K10, p80, k10. Keeping pat as est (Garter st on first and last 10 sts), work in St st on center 80 sts as follows: Work with A for 10 rows.
Next Row: Work with A on 13 sts, place marker, work Chart on center 74 sts, place marker, work with A on last 13 sts. Cont as est through Row 77 of Chart. Once chart is complete, cont as est with A until piece measures18” from beg. Work in Garter st across all sts for 2” more. Bind off all sts.
