Ohh god, I have one month to knit this……….
02/11 finished with the monkey’s, they’re cute! I used size 9 needles because you shouldn’t lend out your 8 ‘s to someone who’s moving across the country. Still looks good, maybe a little loose but makes for a bigger blanket?
03/10 Finished, before the baby even!
Okay, so I totally f$@ed up my steek on the Monkey’s. I tried to document it in an effort to help anyone else in need. I wasn’t sure how to sew the steek without sewing the whole thing together so I crocheted (in orange) a row (instead of sew) and then cut… except I cut my crocheted row… except that wouldn’t have worked anyway. I blocked , and when I started to pick up the rows around the boarder I realized it was starting to unravel. I quickly sewed it up with my sewing machine. I think the crocheted row would have worked if I would have sewn it right after. I then had to pick up the stitches on my crocheted row, which were super tight and once I got my needle on I couldn’t get the bitches, I mean stitches off because they were so tight. The only thing that saved me were my Addi needles, seriously. I was able to take off the needle and knit the stitch right off the cord.
Only I can tell I messed up. I’m impressed at how well it recovered….
Too lazy to knit a back, plus you can only see one side at a time :) I sewed on the back with the blanket stitch - which took 3-4 hrs, ug.
In the end, this may be too nice for a baby to puke and pee on. We’ll see.
