Notes

My Granddaughter has a job as an International Art Dealer and will be travelling on Cruise Ships. I wanted to make her something so she will think of me while she is away. She loves Sloths so here we go.

Just about lost my mind yesterday trying to crochet with this stuff.
I think I can finish the head but the body, arms and legs will be kit with a strand of lace weight to stabilize it. I will crochet the claws and use a folded pipe cleaner so they will curve.
I have a backpack I hope will fit him and I will make him a Bow Tie.
Good luck to me today

Knitting with 4mm needles. Following the pattern except for evey row I purl back. Two rows in knitting is about the same as 1 in crochet, I think, Anyway that is what I am going. I may add dome extra rounds after row 12. Not sure, will check when I get there. For the increase I used kfb. Purl side is the hairiest.

I am showing symptoms of COVID-19 this morning and my husband is in hospital on oxygen. Good thing I have something easy to knit, if I feel up to it.
Knitting the body using the purl side as the front.
For every crochet row I count the knit and the purl as one. I added 3 more “rounds” to the body length in increased to 60 sts instead of 54. I am please with the result so far.
I have this nifty little needle brush I bought in England 40 years ago. I gently tease out any trapped hairs after each row.

Working on the last leg. Haven’t done much lately as life is pretty upsetting. Carl is still in the hospital. I hope to start sewing you the arms and legs today. The head is finished, just have to embroider the mouth.

Working on the fingers and toes, I am crocheting them and using pipe cleaners to stuff them so I can curve them.
Once the last of the pieces are done I can start assembling and hope it all worked out. I made some major changes to the stitch/row counts
