I reversed most of the pattern in order to get it to match the first 4 rows of K2, P2 as follows:

Rows 1-4: K2, P2
Row 5: Cable 6, P2, K2, P2 repeat 7 times
Rows 6-12: K6, P2, K2, P2 repeat 7 times

Repeat rows 5-12 at least 3 more times, ending with a cable row (I repeated 5 times to make the hat long enough to fold up at the bottom)

Decrease rows:
1: K6, P2tog, K2, P2 repeat 7 times
2: K6, P1, K2, P2 repeat 7 times
3: K5, P2tog, K2, P2 repeat 7 times
4: K6, K2, P2 repeat 7 times
5: K6, SSK, P2 repeat 7 times
6: K6, K1, P2 repeat 7 times
7: K6, K1, P2tog repeat 7 times
8: Cable 6, K1, P1 repeat 7 times
9: K6, K2tog repeat 7 times
10: K6, K1 repeat 7 times
11: K5, K2tog repeat 7 times
12: K4, K2tog repeat 7 times
13: K3, K2tog repeat 7 times
14: K2, K2tog repeat 7 times
15: K1, K2tog repeat 7 times
16: K2tog repeat 7 times
17 K2tog repeat 3 times

I also did a right cable rather than a left.
