They knit up pretty quickly, truth be told! Quite a bit easier to do in yarn you can see. Fun Fur is evil if you’re trying to do anything with increases in it. Not so bad if you’re not.
If you’re using Fun Fur or other novelty type yarn for this sort of thing, be aware that the wrong side will likely be nicer (fuzzier) than the right side in stockinette. Something about how the stitches are formed seems to put most of the furry bits on the purl side.

The beaks were a bit fiddly (the conical ones are 1/2 a penny), but the results are quite cute!
The eyes were just worsted weight embroidered on ( three lines) instead of french knots.
The triangle beaks are a square that is on the diagonal and stitched in place (think Robin baby).

Now that the shower is over I can say the fun fur one is for Pooka! It’s stuffed with catnip and he should have lots of fun with it.
The others are for a mobile for Meredith’s Dragon Boy, knit for the shower today. ♥ to Meredith and the Dragon Boy!

Meredith forwarded some photos of Pooka enjoying his Fluffy. :D So cute! And some photos of the bird mobile, which is wonderful and a really neat idea. Meredith’s sister Blake came up with the idea and knit some of the birds. Anne (AnnieBee) made the zombie bird, har har!
Lyndsey and Gina knit the other birds. It really is a fun pattern.
I forgot to note that while attempting to seam Fluffy, both Zander and Buddy were trying to eat him. Zander was in front of me, eating from above, Buddy was on my right, eating from the side. It made seaming a bit more of a challenge than usual!
But I knew that Pooka would love it, heh, with two giant cat testers approving of it so much!
