The more I work on this piece, the more linked in my mind it becomes to the exchange above from my favorite piece of Firefly fanfiction -- which I happened to be reading when I cast on the cabled band. The part I love best about cables is being able to follow the tangle of lines, so watching this one untangle itself as I work and then put itself back together is a special delight.

2/27: I named this project after one of the guns in the scene I quoted at the beginning of the project notes, which the author transliterates to “quick results.” It’s proving accurate; this thing is just flying off my needles because I’m so in love with watching it build up.
