5/11/10 And it’s done! Done and beautiful, more so than my crappy photography skills can tell you. It came out slightly darker than I had hoped, and slightly more variegated, neither of which is coming through in the photos. In real life, the finished shawl is a deep green with a touch of blue, just a few shades darker than the unstrung beads in the third picture down. The ‘darker’ is a tiny disappointment that I can live with, and the ‘variegated’ is beautiful in a way I hadn’t thought it would be. And even after a round of Soak and acid dyeing with vinegar, it still smells beautifully wooly and silky. I can only describe this one as a raging success.

If I had any patience at all, I’d have held off on this one until the planned Lost KAL at the end of the season. Emphasis on that ‘if’.

4/22/10: The actual knitting part is done! Now all I have to do is find something to dye it in.
