Second tension square attempts give 18.5 stitches for Dbl. Crochet and 19 stitches for Treble, both with 3mm hook.

Finished first of hexes BUT instead of 19.5cm it was 16.5. I’ve not cut the yarn and I’m going to try another to see if 16.5 stays consistent or if when I relax a bit more I can come out nearer the right size in which case I may unravel the first one and try again.

Block 2 - Having done the first of these, I think things would have been a lot simpler if the instructions had been set up to join in the blue/nocturne yarn at the midpoint of a group of five stitches, rather than at the start of a group. For remaining three hexes will probably do the set up so that the last stitch in the round before the joining slip stitch is the central stitch of the group. That way you avoid doubling up with slip stitch on the lace sections.

Okay, so I don’t know if I misread something somewhere, but on block 2 for the full block, I had mostly half-trebles. When I read the instructions for the half block, there seemed more doubles. I decided to ‘keep’ the half-trebles because I like the more stable edge they give. Now, maybe if I go back and check it’ll all be down to me not reading something right in the first place, but just in case it isn’t making a note in case I want to do another Frida sometime.
