9/23 Cast on. Was originally planning to make Kara but after making Lauriel I’m loving the cropped cardigan look more than the open front cardi.
9/24 twenty rows into ribbing. Just for fun I timed how long it takes to do one row - 13 minutes! That was a front side row, wrong side rows are probably even slower…
Nope, 13 min on the wrong side too.
9/27 finally finished ribbing! Boy did that feel good to move on to stockinette.
10/1 finished mid section of body, right front and left front!
10/5 finished back and started sleeve cap.
10/7 finished first sleeve! Short row sleeve cap was way easier than I imagined it would be. Picked up 31 sts on each side instead of the 29 I was supposed to for my size. It worked out great. Did magic loop for sleeves instead of dpns. Started second sleeve.
10/12 started ribbing of second sleeve last night.
10/13 finished second sleeve, did first button band.
10/19 last night I finished the second buttonhole band - yarnover buttonholes are easy! and started the i-cord neck edging. I-cord edging looks awesome! It makes a nice fat round edge. Finished neck edging today. Just have to weave in the ends and block! (Then.. button shopping! yay!)
10/21 finished working in ends and blocked.
10/30 Sewed on buttons. I found the perfect vegetable-ivory buttons at Button Button, in a matching shade of Happiness blue! Love.
Love this sweater. It’s the perfect style for me, fitted, curvy, three-quarter sleeves, mostly plain with a little detailing at the yoke, great-shaped neckline. Looks great with retro-style dresses and skirts. Really I can’t think of a single thing I would change if I knew how! Will definitely make this again. Might have already bought yarn!
