Making to match the hat I knit for my dad’s birthday. Woodsmoke main colour, with forest green and Noro stripes to match the hat without being too ‘matchy.’

I like the look of this pattern, I thought perhaps I could figure it out on my own but would much rather have someone else do the work for me! (After I bought the pattern, I’m glad I did, there are helpful little tips & techniques that I wouldn’t have known to do on my own.)

Going to be a Christmas present so I’m getting a head start and starting now.

Enjoying this simple stitch pattern! I’m changing up the stripes to use the yarn I have, so far:

2” woodsmoke
1/2” forest
8” woodsmoke
2” noro multi

2/11 SO not going to be a Christmas present! I stalled on this, lost interest, wanted to make more challening things. Perhaps a birthday present (march)?

3/3 Almost finished! Picked it up when I realized the birthday is arriving and now would be a good time to finish this off. I didn’t follow the stripe pattern, as I wanted to use up available small balls of yarn. I knit until it looked good or I ran out of a colour then moved on to the next. I’m going to do the three narrow stripes at one end to sort-of match the starting end. It looks really great! I think my dad is going to like it. (I hope!)
