Cast on cuff with long tail cast on - tried the suggested but it was too tight. (But many others in my knitting group say they use cable cast on and never have a problem with it being too tight! Must be just me.)
Size 5 needles for rib
Size 7 for first 5 rows of sleeve
Size 8 for remainder of sleeve to get gauge
After last inc round, knit 43 rows to get 19” sleeves. (Stopped on 43rd row and moved sts to holder.)
I am knitting this on the Amtrak train - eight hour ride gives me plenty of knitting time :)
1/13 finished sleeves, finished body, joined them all together! Started colourwork part. It’s looking really great so far.
1/15 finished colourwork and short rows. It’s gorgeous! I tried it on and it fits GREAT. The yoke is super flattering if you have curvy hips, as it draws the eye up to the shoulders. Love this sweater and would love to make it again! Just need to finish it up. :)
I will have some of both colours left over, used less than 1 skein of contrast and less than 6 skeins of main colour.
Blocking now! Did the elastic bind off for the neckline. It seemed complicated when I started it, but I got into a rhythm as I kept going.
My finished bust measurement is just over 34”, a little smaller than the 35” it’s supposed to be. We’ll see how it is after blocking. The sleeves are just a little under 12” wide at the upper arms. (I measured it because I love the fit and want to make my next sweater similar dimensions.)
