Notes

Based on the Bob’s Scarf pattern (chart), repeated pattern about 18 times. Purposely added an extra row of double ribbing after the first round of the pattern and before the last time, to get the diamond look at both ends of the neckwarmer, then followed the chart normally so the rest of the piece has the Vs.

Used Tubular cast on/off (in my opinion, this is the only way to go for scarves!!), made three I-cords for the buttons.

Currently blocking it…fingers crossed it won’t accidentally felt!! (Still fairly new to blocking). All photos except the top one (just added 15th May) are of the unblocked item.

Enjoyed knitting this pattern, but the Sirdar Eco Wool was a bit too scratchy for us :( The lovely lady at my LYS suggested fabric softener. I’ll probs try that after the hubby road-tests the neckwarmer for a day or so, wearing it over his shirt collar to work.

N.B. Although this yarn is scratchy, it had just the right stitch definition. I think with this kind of pattern, you don’t want something that brings out the stitches themselves too well (e.g. my fave - Sublime Cashmerino Silk Aran) because what you want to see are the overall V-lines of the pattern. Hope you get what I mean.

The second photo (of hubby wearing it) is the closest to the actual yarn shade.
