Edit: Finally got around to weaving in ends and blocking. Turned out absolutely gorgeous. The yarn has softened up a lot too…Z enjoyed modelling it too. Win!

This is a SUPER easy knit. The only challenge would be to get a long enough cable needle to get all the way around the blanket when you’re knitting the border. This is my first blankie project so I’m not used to knitting HUGE things hahaha.

For the main garter body of the blankie I used JUST under 5balls…

About to finish up and I’ve used less than 1.5balls of the darker grey. And I’m hoping that I have enough of the lighter grey for this edging………..3 more rounds!!!

I bought the yarn in 2010 just before Z-man was born. I even cast on that 1st stitch and knit several rows but somehow…project after project “got in the way” ;) and here I am almost 4years later……..well let’s just say this is Z-man’s first pressie for his little sibling due to arrive some time this year :)

I can’t start anything new as I’ve had to pack all my stash ready for a move :) So…no excuses now? I’m already halfway done with this after just 2 days. We’ll see.
