Notes

Åsa’s new 2022 Spring Baby Collection is awesome, I just want to make every single piece of it!

Billie is a free pattern, and it is fun and functional, which I like very much.

I used up some extra Ultra Wool that I had from when I designed the Rainbow and Hearts baby blanket for the Little Looms Spring 2022 magazine. The gauge is different, but so are babies. I knitted size 6 mo, and the measurements are close to a 9 month. Perfect, soft, warm fabric … pants for a winter baby at the given age.

For reference: The project (worked in size 6 mo) used 4.7 oz of Ultra Wool, which means you just need a small amount of each color given above, or choose any single color.

For my striping, I knitted the stripes in a width to “please the eye”:

  • 40 rounds in blue for the waistband
  • 14 rounds in green, counted at center front (not counting short rows on the back)
  • 14 rounds of yellow
  • 20 rounds of light pink (4 rounds before splitting for the legs)
  • 20 rounds of lilac before the decrease round.
  • 19 rounds of violet before binding off in pattern.
