It is rather unusual after two month of working with Berroco Remix Light, to knit with ANY other yarn!
But … what a treat! Fiora is soft and shiny, and knitting it goes smoothly and easily, so I’m very much looking forward to it.
I chose the x/xl size, but I’m not sure if this will be too large … 155 stitches for the back looks like a lot.
Also, while I usually knit loosely, I needed a much smaller needle to get the gauge (size 2 instead of size 6, it actually sounds less dramatic in mm).

The back has been done for a while, just didn’t take a picture.
Love the yarn! It’s a little heavy and its drape is perfect for the pattern.
Started a front, but used a different cast-on than for the back … UGLY! … frogged it. Will start over again soon.

Oh, what a bliss to revive the Hummelo! I picked up where I left, at the frogged “Right Front”, and I had to apply a good amount of discipline last night to put it down and go to sleep.
After knitting Lopi, which has been a delight by itself, the Fiora just glides off the needles with its smoothness …

“Right front” done.

I did the “three needle bind-off“ for the back and the two fronts today, which revealed another hidden design treasure: Binding the pieces off together like this is not just a convenient way to be done with the shoulder seaming quickly (yay!), but it also guarantees that the ridges on the front match up perfectly with the ridges on the back … so easy! so pretty!

Not that I can call it a big accomplishment, but I setup the sleeves today.
- Instead of measuring the sides and worry about stretching, I simply counted the rows, since the gauge works just fine. 30 rows on the back, 67 rows on the fronts. Measured … came out just fine.
- Pickup 3 sts in 4 rows brings it to a little over 71 sts that I need, but I just reduce as needed in the first row as needed.
- I picked up from left to right, so I started with an extra purl row before starting the pattern … actually looks nice and smooth.
- I decided to work both sleeves at the same time, so I picked up both sides and put them on one needle. I put markers so that I remember where which row starts if I have to drop my work quickly: Blue = beginning of WS, orange = beginning of RS.
Rrrrolling!!!!

Off the needles! Loving it!
Please don’t tell Martha, but I probably will just sew the sides and not do the three-needle-bind-off for that one.

I humbly announce that my Hummelo is complete, and I feel honored that I had the opportunity to have a picture of it taken today with Martha.
I give the pattern (and the yarn) all thumbs up … so simple to knit pieces … such a different construction … such a perfect fit.
And look what Martha is wearing! Her brand new Scarlet Paintbrush … the pattern is so perfect for Berroco Quinoa …
