I admit that I’m one of the millions of people who were watching “April the Giraffe” during her pregnancy and birth of her calf, and I enjoyed it. While watching and crafting, I came up with the idea to make a giraffe afghan.
Today the web cam will be turned off at 4:30 pm ET, so I want to start tracking my afghan project on this memorable day.
The giraffe afghan will take a while to finish … 17 hexagons in a row, 21 rows up, for a total of 357 hexagons. Two ends to weave in per hexagon. I’ll be busy for a while!
I’m thoroughly enjoying this project, though, and I’m using up a lot of odds and ends of yarn. Each hexagon only uses about 6 yards.
