Notes

You will also need:

  • Small amount of stuffing
  • Scissors, tapestry needle
  • (1) jingle bell (optional)

Instructions:
The bell as shown is made of TinyTURTLE™ hexagons (2”), but like so many other designs, this pattern scales up to 4” and 6” hexagons with no modifications.

Weave 6 hexagons in a “bell” color, and 1 hexagon in another color for the “clapper”. Sew the hexagons together as shown in the schematic.

Don’t worry about any extra threads from the hexagons, they will all hide nicely inside the bell. If you want to be frugal, you can reuse the starting threads of the top hexagons as hangers: Make a knot of both starting ends close to the weaving, and another one about 3-4 inches away. Clip the ends. Make sure that your hanger faces to the right side for the next step.

Fold the bell right sides facing each other and sew the side seams, leaving a small opening. Turn and stuff the bell. If you want, you can put a jingle bell inside the clapper part (it won’t jingle much with all the stuffing around, but you can still here it). Close the remaining opening.

Weave a clapper colored piece of yarn along the line between clapper and bell and pull it in to shape the clapper. Make a double knot and either weave in the ends or clip them off.

Enjoy!
