10/25/15 - knit for gauge. In the middle of another hat right now but couldn’t resist starting this also.

10/27/15 - Moving right along. This is a quick knit. I love cables.

10/29/15 - halfway through decreases for top.

10/30/15 - finished! Love this hat. The instructions seem a bit long, but they are just explaining some basics in regard to the hat. They are not at all confusing or too intricate. This is a good pattern for someone wanting to knit a cable hat for the first time. It is very well explained.

I ended up using 75g, or about 185 yards, for this hat, knitting on size 5US needles.

Although I got the specified gauge, the body seems a little long for my husband, so we turned up the ribbing to make a brim. Now it’s perfect.

Love this hat.
