Cast on 128 stitches.

Initially started doing 1x1 rib, with 3.25 mm needle. It looked awful. Frogged it and started again with a 1x1 twisted rib and a 3.0 mm needle.

Changed to a 3.5 mm needle for the main part of the hat. The stitch is from the top section of The Turtles’ Journey Shawl.

Worked 18 rows in rib (about 2”), 10g
Worked 8 row repeat, 8 times (64 rows)
Decreased every other row until 8 stitches left.

This has come out at 9” long. It’s a reasonable length. I had to stripe the 2 balls of leftover yarn at the top. If I’f had a bit more yarn, i would probably have done a couple more repeats before decreasing.
