Notes

This pattern is written for cuff-down socks, but I’m going to work it toe-up. I’m going to work the chart as written; I’m not going to attempt flipping things as I think it will make very little difference, anyway.

I’ve cast on 64 stitches and worked an FLK heel to make the toe. I’m going to use the Sockmatician’s Toe-Up recipe for the gusset and heel. As per his pattern, needle one is the sole of the sock and I’m working the pattern on needle 2.

Foot: 46 rows
Gusset: 20 rows
Leg: 48 rows
Cuff: 12 rows

I’m so pleased with these socks. Sometimes I pick just the right pattern and find just the right yarn, and the result makes me smile every time I look at it; this is one of those times.

I didn’t make any major changes to the pattern, as it works equally well whether you work if toe-up or cuff-down. The only thing I did slightly differently was the ribbing on the cuff. I used ktbl on all the knit stitches, except the k4 which runs up the centre of each needle.
