Notes

Completed 12/10/2013

Wow! This pattern was a challenge for me but well worth the effort. The original author of this pattern helped me a little in the “Patterns” board with some of the bumps in the road.

Turned out so pretty! And the stitch is nice and warm.

I suggest after completing row 4 of the triangle base that you write down the expected number of stitches that you should end up with for a few more rows in order to assure you do not make your triangle too big. You will see why below.

I ended up having to do some slight adjustments. My triangle measured larger at 40.5”x70”, but honestly I am happier with this size. I ended up having to use less than half of an extra skein for color B. My notes are as follows:

12/8/2013 Ended up with a flat top at the end of row 81. Must not have decreased properly. Will need to write ahead of time the stitches and spaces I should have for several more rows myself in order to get it right next time…for now I…

Am going to continue on…

Added another 23 rows to the total amount for the pattern. I cheated on some of the increase rows, carefully looking at the edges to make sure it didn’t start to look to funny.

So, I had to make adjustments to the border. Here is what I did:

My trim changes:

Row 1: 148 dc evenly instead of 112.

Row 2: Instead of using 9 dc on the straight stretch of the repeat, I used 11. I did 8 repeats on each side instead of 7, and did some random decreases to make the stitches match on each side for this row. I used standard dc2tog for the decreases. After that, it was just following directions with a bigger number of repeats.

Row 3: My straight row of dc were 9 instead of 7. My repeat number was 17 times instead of 15.

Row 4: My straight row of dc were 7 instead of 5. My repeat number was 17 times instead of 15.

Row 5: My straight row of dc were 5 instead of 3. My repeat number was 17 times instead of 15.

Row 6: This row calls for a v-stitch in the middle stitches of the straight row dc. Because I had 5 instead of 3, I simply performed my v-stitch in the middle of my five dc’s. My repeat number was 17 times instead of 15.

Please note that from now on, my repeat number is greater than what is called for in the original pattern. I followed along with the repeats until I got to the end of the repeat instructions for my corner and each edge. Then I continued on with the directions for those areas.
