On a trip to India a few years ago, I bought a carpet (as you do!) which I love and it has dominated my lounge floor ever since. On a trip back home to South Africa, I saw a carpet hanging on my gran’s wall and realised why I had been attracted to the one in India in the first place - the patterns were along the same lines and the colour schemes very similar and I had been looking at that one on the wall all my life. My gran left me the wall hanging carpet with the sweetest note to say that I should always think of her when I see it. It is now hanging proudly in my lounge and always puts a smile on my face when I remember a very special woman who inspired my love of crafting. This hexaghan pattern has reminded me of both carpets ever since I first saw it and I cant wait to finish this project and have a blanket to go with my carpets to snuggle under on these bleak winter days.
I have wanted to make a variety of hexagons for ages and this seems like the perfect opportunity. In addition to doing the hexagons in the pattern I will be adding a few different ones to the mix.
Modifications:
Each hex has an additional row;
I am doing 7 rows around each flower rather than 5;
Additional Hexagons used are listed above.
