Notes

Each skein of Silk Garden makes two full center squares. I chose not to do the little notches in white as I just didn’t want to weave in the extra ends. I knitted all of the mitered center squares first, over the course of three years off and on, then washed and blocked them without weaving in the ends. Now I’m adding the log cabin borders in the creamy white--started in spring on 2016, figure I’ll finish in spring 2017. Ultra Alpaca is amazing and lovely! I also decided to un-bind off the final stitch on each corner of the center squares and pick that up as part of the log cabin-ing--made the edges tidier overall.

Each square, with border, will measure 12” by 12” after blocking.

2017.07.01

All squares are knitted! Now. Ends to weave in and blocking before seaming it all together.

2020.11.25

Finished in October, finally nabbed a few pictures. Finished photos are staged on a California King size bed for reference. Finished measurements are 60 inches by 50 inches when gently stretched. I foolishly did not keep the tags with the center squares so am not entirely sure which colors correspond to which numbers but suspect it would be easy Ravelry detective work for those inclined.
Blanket fulfills its mandate: make Mom so warm she can’t possibly ask if the room is cold!
