13 June 2023: made a little speckled pompom. This hat is super fun and bold and bright. I absolutely love it.

25 May 2023: off the needles. But I won’t get around to washing it until much later.
24 May 2023: I cast this on just last night. And it’s 10:50 now and am done with colorwork. This hat goes by super fast.
Size 2. Regular brim.
Mods:
• I wanted a super neat edge so I did a long tail tubular cast-on. As a result I couldn’t do 3x3 rib, and I could’ve done 2x2, but opted for 1 x 1.
• Fingering weight yarn held double.
Needles:
US4: cast-on and two foundation rows
US5: rib
US7: the rest
About the yarn: palette has come a long way. I used this ages ago (2014) and knitted a gradient cowl. It was beyond rough. So rough that I swore I’d never use it again. But I decided to give it another shot. And surprise-surprise, the batch I got for this hat is so soft.
Rad DK is sold out. So I had to come up with an alternative. I do prefer non-superwash, so this is probs for the best.
