re: the pattern: amazing. The way it came together and became a giant half circle was mind blowing.

re: the yarn: thumbs down. Star for softness. Star for color. Star for decent price. But the way it got matted and felted was beyond disappointing.

26 October 2924: decided to go and do section 10 but got as far as five rows. The yarn is felting. Any more handling and I’m afraid that it’ll look too horrible. So I ripped back to the scalloped icord edge and I am finished.

Washed it and it’s now blocking.

25 October 2024: late PM section 9 done. I can call it quits now….

Clue 4: definitely hold a strand of kidsilk with CC for added texture and plumpness . Am holding Lang Mohair Luxe with CC for the tiny bobbles.

20 October 2024: clue 3 done. Slow start but once I got the hang of it, it flew right off the needles. The yarn is somewhat of a disaster for this project. It got all matted with just your normal handling. Sad.

18 October 2024: clue 3 slow going. I keeping spacing out. Am using German short rows. Breaking CC each time, and carrying MC.

14 October 2024: 9:04pm. Clue 2 done.

My takeaway: next time (if there is a next time), hold the kidsilk double as the brioche CC, instead of kidsilk + original CC strand which is what I did and I don’t think it added anything special.

10 October 2024: clue 2. Brioche. Adding one strand of Rowan kidsilk to the CC.

7 October 2024: clue 1 done. A little fiddly when joining the garter panel to the half circle(s) but managed. Am surprised I only missed one increase in one of the connecting garter panels. ‘Twas easily remedied by adding one to right side.

Re: Line weight yarn. It’s very soft but it felts on its own if you look at it funny. Had an awful time unraveling each dropped stitch since the yarn’s fibers had already meshed. Regrets. BUT I must say that the colors are amazing. The golden green Heather glows.

6 October 2024: gotten as far as row 1 for bubbles. Would’ve gotten to this point sooner but had some hiccups at the start— the original color ways (tosh Edison bulb and malabrigo Patrick) that I chose just didn’t look right even though they looked okay in the swatch.

Then I tried again with Supersoft but I wasn’t head over heels.

Then third attempt is this one: line weight in lilac fog Heather and golden green Heather. Colors look great together BUT and it’s a BIG but: line weight is getting fuzzy as all hell. Ugh. Sigh. But I simply must go on.
