15 March 2023: all washed and dried. Striking colorwork design. Took liberty and made mods starting with yarn weight. Turned out great.

Bust/body circ: 19”
Upper arm circ: 5”
Cuff circ: 3.5”
Body length center front: 18.5”
Body length from underarm to b/o edge: 10.75”
Sleeve length from underarm to b/o edge: 15”
Yoke depth center front: 9”
Yoke depth to underarm: 10”
Gauge: 24 sts by 26 rows
Yarn: Supersoft held double
MC: scarab
CC1: nougat
CC2: maize, bleached white
(I didnt weigh maize.)
Needles:
US5: cast-on, bind-off, ribbed stuff
US7: stockinette, colorwork
Charts:
yoke: 3, 4, 5, 7
(sleeve/body separation)
body: 8, 9, 4 and 14
sleeve: 8, 9, 4, 14 (modified), 5, 7 (modified), and 4
Mods:
- Yarn weight (Supersoft held double is like light DK)
- Stitch count (I used my Dibiasky as a reference point. I just had to make sure that my (yoke) increases resulted in stitch counts that were the same multiples as the charts. And later on I modified the charts to fit my sleeve stitch count.)
- Overall shape (more like a standard yoke jumper)
- Charts (didn’t use them all. Reused some. And a couple I modified to fit my stitch count)
- Sleeves (more colorwork)
- Rib (1 x 1)
- Cuffs (wide and nowhere near as long as prescribed)
Stitch count:
Long tail cast on 90, 1 x 1 rib
Inc to 120, Short rows
Inc to 180, Section 3 chart
Inc to 240, Section 4 chart
Inc to 280, Section 5 chart
Inc to 320, Section 7 chart
I maxed out at 320. (Separated: 54 each sleeve, 212 for body. Added 10 for each sleeve— 64 each sleeve; 232 for body. For body I increased as needed: to 236 before chart 4, then to 240 for chart 14. For sleeves, I decreased as needed: to 62 for modified chart 7, to 60 for chart 4, to 56 for ribbing).
14 March 2023: off the needles. Speaking of needles, I knitted the sleeves using my tiny short circulars. I got through chart 14 on the first sleeve using DPNs and it did not look good. So I ripped back, and used circulars.
1 March 2023: body done. Now onto sleeves.
22 February 2023: a couple of years ago, I started —and had gotten along quite far, knitting The Twigs. But I found the shape and the fit quite odd. It was snug around the shoulders and it sort of flared in the back. So I frogged it.
But I’ve decided to give it another go. This time, with heavier gauge than what’s prescribed. I’m going to use my go-to Holst Garn Supersoft held double. Im going to base my stitch count on my modified Dibiasky which is probably the best fitting yoke sweater I’ve knitted.
Lots of mods.
Basically I’m going to knit a basic topdown pullover with The Twigs colorwork.
Fingers crossed it turns out okay.
