This is a very easy pattern, and makes lovely shaped fingerless mittens. However, the mittens don’t come out very big. I added 4 rows to the length (before the top section of ribbing) and next time I would probably add 10.

I also need to find out how to do a more stretchy cast off - but that is my rather basic knitting skills showing, rather than a fault with the pattern!

Really lovely mittens though - and so nice to find a pattern that uses beautiful (and super-warm) sock yarn.

8 Nov 2010 - finished second one now, and with a stretchy cast off it worked MUCH better. I am still absolutely in love with this pattern, and am going to embark on another pair in baby cashmerino very shortly!
