Notes

I’m not 100% sure I’ve linked the right cotton there, but it’s the right brand and it’s a 60count cotton thread.

I used a 1mm hook because I couldn’t get a 0.9mm at short notice.

It’s come up much bigger than the 17cm the pattern suggests. I don’t think that can be accounted for in the hook size. It’s 23cm point to point not including the beads.

The beads are cheap glass crackle beads (about £3 delivered on eBay) but I think they work really well.

The bigger size worked well for me. My mum requested I make her a jug cover to go over the pitched she uses for Pimms in the summer and this has worked out to fir perfectly (original plan was actually to repeat the outer ring befor adding the border, but this proved unnecessary)

Great pattern. Though I didn’t see anywhere that the beads needed to be threaded on to the cotton before starting. I figured it out and took a pile of thread off my ball, threaded the beads on from the bottom, tied a knot, wound if back on to the ball to prevent tangling and hoped I wouldn’t run out of thread. Which I didn’t.

I may make another of these for me once my eyes have recovered from the tiny tiny work.
