I got this yarn from a swap on Facebook, I loved it’s varied textures and colours but had absolutely no idea what to do with it. The pattern needed to be simple or it would be lost in the changing textures and patterns. After some searching I found the road trip pattern and set about making it.

The pattern worked up extremely quickly and I finished it in 2 or 3 days.

The only alteration I made was to just leave the tassels loose without twisting. Twisting meant you lost the texture of the yarn which I thought was such a shame with this yarn.

The yarn it’s self is surprisingly easy to work with, I was worried because a lot of textured yarns snag and batch making them difficult to crochet and impossible to frog, however this crocheted up easily, frogged without snagging at all and looks great.

I’m really pleased with the final piece. It’s quite different to anything I’ve made before.
