Notes

The dundee pattern has 131 stitches per side at the underarm which is a bit large for me (I like 120 stitches for a 4ply gauge) but since I am new to fair isle garment knitting I decided to stick with this size as I didn’t know how easy the garment will be to get on and off.

I have lengthened the original pattern by approximately 7-8cm and charted it here:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/18-qisYPl9KUFBLMYe8IZ6l5R...

Instead of knitting flat in pieces I have chosen to knit in the round and steek the sleeve holes and neck opening.

The neck was too tight so I needed to steek it further than I originally intended.

I have an episode of my podcast all about it here:

Having a wee bit of trouble with the sleeves. First I came to the conclusion that the decreases were too few (was decreasing 2 every 6 rows) and that I needed to decrease more rapidly (2 every 3 rows).

The original pattern has the decreases as 2 every 3 rows, however it is a short-sleeved garment.

So I decreased more rapidly and the top part of the sleeve fit much better, but around the elbow it was too tight. I frogged back a bit and now I am knitting straight with no decreases at all. It is still a little tight just around the elbow but having no decreases around the forearm will be better for now.

Cast off second sleeve! Total weight of jumper is 355g.
