Knitting the size 2T without mods so far, except for phony side seams (center stitch at each side worked as a purl).
Collar worked a couple of rows longer than 2 1/2”.
Long sleeves instead of short: picked up sleeve stitches as in pattern, but with one extra stitch at underarm worked as a purl to match the phony side seam. First decrease round worked as in pattern; then continued in stockinette stitch, decreasing 2 stitches every 12th round 4 times (29 stitches). Knit 12 more rounds, decreasing away the purl stitch on last round - 28 stitches, sleeve measures 7” from underarm. Switch to size 3 needles, work cuff in 2x2 rib for 1 1/2”.
Size 3 needle for collar and sleeve cuffs. Final measurements: 22-1/4” around, 14” long from top of shoulder. Total yarn used: 196g - about 350 yards.
I liked the contiguous method and will try it on an adult sweater next - but the shoulder line was very steep. My row gauge was on, so I think it’s intentional, and in this case (for a 2-year-old with not much in the way of shoulders) I think it will fit well. For me, I’d need a less steep line there.
This is handspun, two hand-dyed colorways from Lisa Souza plied together. Nearly impossible to photograph accurately - color is closest in fourth photo down.
