Following hot on the heels of my Woodland Walk Blankets, I’ve started this version. Again, I’m using aran yarn and 5mm hook and started with a treble foundation row of 171 stitches.
There are regular rows of little bumps to add texture.
I only have one ball of the 5th colour (it was in the sale…) and was worried I’d run out if I did bumps both sides but I did a sample and it looked really good both sides. Maybe on another blanket. ..
Hopefully, there will be enough left to make a more interesting border on this one.

I stopped when I got to 11 repeats of the stripe pattern, and carefully weighed the remaining yarn. I calculated I could either work another repeat and a narrow border, or start the border and make a complete pattern repeat that would go right the way round.
To begin with, I worked 2 rows of trebles across the top in grey, to match the first 2 rows at the bottom. Then I switched to a 4mm hook and did a row of trebles in grey along each side, working 2 trebles into the end of every row, plus 1 into the bobble row. I turned and worked back along the row but now decreased that extra stitch I did into the bobble row.
Next, I worked a row of bobbles all the way round, making sure to work a bobble right at the corner. Then came 2 rows of trebles all the way round, with 5 trebles in the corner stitch. (Be sure to turn the work on every row now, to stop the border curling.)
At this point I was worried the border was starting to get wavy, even though I was using a smaller hook, so I finished with 1 row of oatmeal half trebles and 1 row of burgundy half trebles, each with 3 stitches in the corner.
And that was it! Apart from making sure all the ends were stitched in, then washing and blocking.
