Want to make the small one, but with this extremely fine yarn, think I’m going for the large. Want to wear it like a scarf. We’ll see!
Love how this yarn is knitting up so far-- it’s REALLY nice!
5 October 2012Only 2 more rows to go-- 1 beaded and then the bind-off! The beads I used were:
Miyuki Amber Gold Luster glaze (Color #311)
Miyuki Light Gold Opal, silver-lined (Color #578)
12:45-- and it’s DONE! Just need to weave in ends, soak, and block! Left all blocking supplies at home, though, so it’ll have to wait. Photos to come!

So…. I’m sorry to report that it has NOT been a good weekend for Tina’s Knitting Projects! Let’s see-I finished the beaded Ishbel shawl, and before I soaked it for blocking, I decided to remove a row of beads which looked off-centered and odd to me by crushing them. Brilliant idea-- except the beads wasn’t the only thing that got crushed-- so did the yarn! YIKES! Thank goodness I noticed after 3 beads! So I had to make 3 repairs. Kinda winged it because I had no idea what I was doing. I may end up frogging to that point and reknitting.
I also need to reblock it-- it’s very crooked-- what happens when you wing it on a piece of cardboard so you can stash it out of reach from your stupid cat.
Anyway, this weekend I also screwed up my mom’s Alpine Meadows sweater…
Sigh….
BTW, after a proper re-blocking (with wires and measured carefully), this shawl/scarf measures 52 inches long and 18 inches deep. It’s definitely a scarf, not a shawl! But for some tiny person, it’d make a nice little shawlette! I’m feeling a bit better about it. But the grumpy cat photo is an excellent illustration of how I felt after my bead crushing incident…. (not my cat nor my photo. I think it’s Tard, the grumpy cat of YouTube fame…)

Nope, just can’t get into this. This will be gifted. Just have to think who….. :-)
