This scarf is being worked from reclaimed yarn from a project that should have been frogged a long, long time ago.
I bought the yarn in the Country Craft Cupboard in Berlin, Ohio, and all I remember about it was that it was an animal fiber. It’s 4 ply and has a halo - it might be angora or mohair.
The original project was a seed stitch Mobius ring cowl. It looked great on the Vogue model, but it never looked great on me (I’m not a Vogue model).
It took some time to finally decide to take it out of the closet and frog it. The super kinkiness of the yarn seems to support my memory of its being an animal fiber.
I wound it into balls…but the kinks stayed. Then I found this great article on reclaiming frogged yarn - it worked like a charm! See the photos of the yarn from its pre-treatment ball stage to the project as it progresses: the circular hank in the second photo is before soaking…in the third, the yarn is soaked, dried, and ready to knit!
The little frog seems to be saying, “I wonder why she waited so long…”
