18/9/2014 - Thinking more about what I want from this:
I really, really like the idea of a cowl or a shawl collar; it’s getting pretty chilly, and those both seem more suitable for November than other necklines. (I also like the idea of a hood, but am setting that aside since it seems too much like a hoodie, and while I don’t mind that, I don’t want it for this.)
I like the idea of asymmetry. Torque and Joanie are looking pretty good on that level, although neither of them are really fitted, which leads to:
I want it to be fitted. Not sweater-girl negative-ease fitted, but not a box with cables, either. Vivian is a good example.
I want a pullover, rather than a cardigan.
I want the option of a V-neck, or asymmetrical V-neck. The high neckline is what’s making me pull back from Wulfenite, which is otherwise gorgeous.
I want some cabling, about as much as you see on Wulfenite or Silken Scabbard. (I’ve thought about it, and I don’t really want lace or eyelets. This sweater should be pretty, but also warm, and those undermine warm to my mind. May consider lace at collar or cuffs, but overall no.)
I’d like a fairly simple body overall, for speed and mindless knitting.
Related to both speed and warmth, I want worsted- or aran-weight.
I’d like it to be done mostly in the round.
