Chained 15 for the waistband to make it thicker even though I’m doing the 6 months size. I crochet tightly, so I had to go up 2 hook sizes to meet gauge. I plan on adding length so it will be pants. I fastened off at the end of the waistband and joined with the mattress stitch.
I took the recommendation to turn at the end of each round to keep the seam straight. Didn’t realize that would create a little ledge every other round, but that’s ok I guess. The seam is straight at least!

Added pants with 13 rounds of hdc.
When decreasing, do first hdc2tog in first st, and next hdc2tog halfway thru the round. Here’s the stitch count for each round:

Went with the larger cuff size again. Instead of chaining 10 though, I did FSC 9 to start.
34 rounds as written
Suspenders
Did 42 rows before the row with the buttonhole. Wanted to err on the bigger side, as I can always cross the straps in the back.

Romper is done and it fits him well, yay! I did use a pair of his pants as a guide when I was making it to make sure the width and length would be right. The suspenders are a tiny bit long, even crossed in the back. I think 34 rows would have been better. Might try to tighten them up.

I ended up cutting off the straps and redoing them with the correct number of rows (34), as the extra length was bugging me. I also chained more tightly in row 34 since the buttonholes were a bit too loose previously. Straps are about 5 inches tall after sewing them on (not total length).
