Notes

8th October 2013- when I reviewed the photo’s of this dress I was unhappy with the spacing of the flowers around the neckline, eventually managed to find time to replace them and upload new pics.

Last year I visited The Knitting and Stitching show in London, whilst there I met Nicky Epstein who was book signing and showcasing her eternity dress, the dress was beautiful and I new I would knit it, I purchased Knitting In Circles there and then, shortly after my oldest and dearest friend Cathryn announced her wedding date, now I had an occasion to wear the dress to.

Unable to source Artyarns in the UK, I contacted the very lovely Eirwen at Knitwitches who came up trumps for me yet again, she hand dyed her lace weight pure silk and kidsilk in a beautiful pinky creamy beige and also suggested that I knit a strand of lurex in with the yarn for some added sparkle - worked brilliantly!

I used a circular lace cast on for the circles and as each one was completed I safety pinned it into place onto a dress form, for every row of circles completed I tried it on and once happy with the fit I sewed the circles together - something of a mammoth task!

Knit as per pattern with the following mods:-

Knit larger circles for the sleeves (more upper arm coverage).

Knit back flounce with the addition of size 8 champagne coloured seed beads using Jennie Atkinsons beaded top as a rough guide for bead placement.

Knit 2 extra circles one for each side of the flounce which provided a little extra fabric and a lovely swish when walking.

The last photo shows Cathryn and myself in her beautiful garden on what was a truly magical day.
