Notes

As a young girl, my parents would often take my sister and I to Mudeford Quay, we we would sit on the quayside and watch the fishermen carry out repairs to their nets, in that my net has a few repairs of its own it is very similar to the real thing! yo, k2tog, sounds simple enough and indeed it is, however row after row of it, is tedium personified! it is very easy to lose concentration which inevitably leads to mistakes.

I used approx 3,500 glass seed beads pre strung approx 500 at a time a real pain, much prefer crochet hook method but wanted the beads to sit on the cross bar so had no choice.

Kept madeira pattern as it is written but reversed k1 yo, to yo, k1 for round 101 thus avoiding large hole.

Skein Queens indulgence is a beautifully soft yarn, the colour was perfect, very evocative of our seas here in the UK. I held it double throughout and had 23g left over, I could have made the net larger but put simply I’d had enough!

Beading is everything in this shawl, true it is a pain, but well worth the effort in the end.
