I followed the instructions accordingly, but as also my chosen color sequence did not work, I frogged my first attempt.
Second try worked more or less:
(I decide the wrong side as right side, as I liked this side more = My Valkyrie will be mirrored)
-
Row (WS): Knit all stitches in CC
-
Row (RS): Knit all stitches in MC
-
Row (WS): Neck shaping in stockinette (MC), NOT switching the stitch pattern at the BOR = Stockinette at the RS
OFFICIAL ERRATA:
Work Wave Edging Set as follows:
Short Row 1 WS: K12, turn work.
Short Row 2 RS: DS, k9, turn work.
At the end of the neckline set up, where you join to work in the round:
Turn work with RS facing, then join to work in the round, being careful not to twist your work.

I am now at the raglan increases, AND I am happy with my color selection
As I didn’t get a jogless join properly done, I changed the place of the BOR to the end or beginning of the last wave at the back.
So the color changes aren’t so massively visible.
Stitch count size 5:
AC/CA: 64
A/C to raglan increases: 28
Between raglan increases: 72
First 4 stripes: one gradient from Yellow to pale Orange
Next 12 stripes, I alternated 3 gradients:
Pink to Violet
Shades of Orange
Coral to Red
At the raglan increases I alternate
Dark Red shades
Violet to Purple

Just before separating the arms.
As the left arms is long enough for me, I added only two colored garter stripes.
My wavy collar is quite twice as long as the striped part.
Knitted the stockinette part of the stripy sleeve, inclusive the cuff, as long as the longest part of the wavy collar = my left sleeve?

Sleeves are finished.
But as at the neckline, some instructions are not clear enough for me.
I followed this rule at the bind off round of the wavy sleeve:
Bind off all wave stitches, including the first DS.
Then follow the instructions until there are less than 15 stitches left.
Then bind off the remaining stitches.
Striped sleeve:
To prevent holes at the armpit, I increased already at this point stitches in the first row in the corners of the cast on stitches.
So I got more width and a stitch count of multiple 6 yet.
I added another 3 color stripes, to mirror the colors of the wavy sleeve, I knitted first.
I modified the sleeve cuff:
To get a smaller circumference (and some more interest at the cuff), I added right slanted cable rows in the 6. And 12. Row.
I bind off in the 15 Row (both sleeves had the same length) and always knitted the two first knit stitches of the cable stitches together to keep the circumference small.

I finished the stockinette rounds of the body.
Just like the striped sleeve, I knitted up my first ball MC without alternate it.
But as the gradient of the blue yarn is longer than my 50g yarn balls, I had no control of the colors.
Solution: I alternated the next balls of yarn.
Love the resulting stripes (repeating the sleeve stripes in shades of blue).
To tighten up the split point, in the last stockinette round I crossed the two middle stitches at the sides.
I’ll start the cuffs at the predicted length, but split when the stockinette = height of the color stripes = my waist.
So, my “Light of the Valkyrie” will have a more cropped lock and feel.
I used I-Cord as a nice selvage edge (and to prevent curling):
Added 2 stitches at the beginning and end of the first row.
Height of split hem: 10 cm.
Cuff: Every 2 columns of knit stitches, I repeated the cable details of the striped sleeve.
Does not pull together so much.
Bind off: In pattern, just a bit tighter.
Length of stockinette and cuff: 30 cm = height of waves at the center back.
It is in the nature of my MC, I will end up with two different cuffs.

I finished my “Light of the Valkyrie” just in time for our summer party today.
I did a bit of a night shift ;-)
