Notes

I designed this hat as part of a two-piece set, including the Greyhaven Cowl, inspired by imagery from The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings movies.

The arched, leafy stitch pattern is very easy to work and the hat knits up so fast I ended up making 14 prototypes as I worked on various ideas!

I loved knitting with the Primo Worsted - it’s soft without being fuzzy, has wonderful stitch definition and drapes beautifully.

I like to block slouchy beanies over an inexpensive playground ball purchased at Walmart. The ball’s round shape maximizes the pattern shaping built into the design and helps to gently open the lace stitches.

You can read more about this design and it’s inspiration on my blog: Robin Ulrich Studio
