Have to dye some yarn first! ☻
Going for the natural speckled look that I loved so much when I first saw this gorgeous shawl!
MC1: Black & white speckle with some peach and brown specks as well (Yarn is undyed Bugga but I suspect it might be Skinny Bugga because it’s rather thin)
MC2: Peack and yellow variegated with a few olive specks
CC1: I had 50 g of a cool beige merino/silk sock and I added some peach.
CC2: Black & white speckle with some pale peach
NOTES:
The first stripe section as pattern. The second like this from elbi65’s notes:
** CC1 two rows stockinette
CC2 two rows stockinette
CC1 two rows seed stitch
** CC2 two rows stockinette
repeat once more from ** to **
- CC1 two rows stockinettethe described patterns.
On the second eyelet section I repeated rows 2-9, 5 times instead of 4 which gave me 10 eyelet rows instead of 8.
After that I made another repeat of the first eyelet section. Totally 399 sts before bind-off.
The shawl grew a lot while blocking. Maybe because of my (too) loose gauge? All I did was to flatten out the shawl and I only used a few pins in the corners and middle. Thankfully the cats were sleeping!
The size is pretty good I think!
SIZE:
75 x 175 cm pre blocking
84 x 225 cm after blocking
I read the pattern notes from elbi65 and found out that the pattern has been changed and the outcome will not look exactly like the sample shawl …… The second stripe section is smaller and the finished shawl has fewer rows.
I do find it really strange to change without informing, because it’s the sample that is selling the pattern! ….. I do like the wider stripe section better so I will knit according to elbi65’s notes.
