I’m test knitting Rililie’s lovely Moroccan Nights.

Swatched with both 4mm and 3,5mm and I got gauge with the 3,5mm so those it is. The yarn feels funny before washing, a bit like paper or something. But it did soften a lot after washing.

April 11th: Cast on and I learned a new way to do short rows.

April 19th: I’ve done 10 repeats of the raglan increases, 6 to go. The fit seems great and I’m really liking this pattern. Short rows at the back make the construction work so that fit shoulders fit better than usually in a raglan. The different textures make this look smart but still simple. Just the way I like it.

April 23th: Sleeves are separeted, I did 17 sets of raglan increases (the pattern says to do 20 in my size which would have been a bit too much for me). I’ve used about 1,5 skeins now.

April 25th: Second skein just finished and I’m about 8 cm below the armpits.

July 6th: Just did a bind off for the hem. I did 13 rows of ribbing to get a bit of extra lenght.

July 22th: First sleeve is knitted, now I need energy to start the second one.

July 28th: After an intensive weekend knitting the last sleeve, the knitting is now done. When I get home, I’ll weave in ends and wash it. I used a small amount of the sixt skein, will weight it at home.
