This pattern was actually unavailable, so I reverse-engineered it as follows:

1. with MC, fsc 6, fdc 33

2. join in the round and sl 6 sts, dc in the following 32 sts, then dc 2 in last st and turn (34 dc) (I added these increases in rows 2-8 because my mug was narrow at the base and wider at the top.)

3. switch to CC (do not cut MC yarn) and ch 1, sc, fpdc, repeat from until the last 2 dc, sc, fpdc and sc in last st and turn (35 sts)

4. ch 2 and dc to last st, 2 dc in last st and turn (36 sts)

5-8. repeat rows 3-4 in MC, then CC (40 sts in row 8)

1. switch to MC and ch 1, sc, fpdc, repeat from to end of row and turn (40 sts)

2. ch 2, hdc in each st across, fdc 16 sts and turn, check on your mug to be sure the fdc is the right length to reach a button on the opposite side

3. sl in final hdc of row 10, then ch 2 and hdc in same st, hdc in each st across, cut yarn and tie off

You can make this with or without the increases and use as many different colors as you’d like. It looks like the pattern designer did not do a row of dc in row 2 but went straight to the pattern in rows 3-4. The sample seems to start with fdc in the MC, then does rows 3-4 in CC1, CC2, CC1, and MC. It looks like the designer then did 4 rows of sc. I made some changes based on personal preference.
