As with my other project, Love starts at Home, I am planning to knit the Home chart on one side and the Love chart on the other. Here is my plan:

  1. cast on for larger size
  2. after garter stitch piece, I’ll work in stockinette for 2“
  3. work 1.25” of border box before and after HOME chart
  4. 2.5” of stockinette
  5. work 0.75” of border box before and after LOVE chart
  6. 2 rows of stockinette
  7. button tab

I’m delighted with this project! It did come out too long, though. In the future, I would make the following changes to my above plan:

• work in stockinette for only 4 rows between garter section and first border box
• work 0.75” (rows 4-5-4 before and 5-4-5 after) of border box before and after HOME chart

What threw off my math is that the HOME and LOVE charts both took up much more real estate than I expected. The HOME chart blocked out to about 13” without the border box.

This is a Christmas gift for my mom and I’m sure she will love it!
