Waterlily is my favorite Twisted Fiber Art colorway of all time. It was part of a club in 2010 and I fell in love after seeing it in project photos. I worked with the dyer to have it brought back in 2015 and this is one of the cakes I bought.

I’m making this shawl as a gift to myself for my birthday, which is on January 9!

I did 2 rows of section 1 (stockinette) before moving to the lace.

For section 2 (seaweed lace), I included rows 13-16 so each lace repeat will be offset and not in straight lines. I did 6 repeats of this chart before moving to section 3 (fishtail edging).

The yarn I used for this project came from Twisted Fiber Art. Twisted shut down due to the pandemic, but its daughter company, Fairy Godmother Dyeworks, opened in the spring of 2023. This particular yarn is no longer available, but you can make a similar project in Glam or a larger size in Svelte or Arial, each available by subscription in a surprise colorway each month. You can order shipments every month, every 2 months, or every 3 months, and you can mix and match so you get something different each time!

Like all Nim Teasdale shawls, this one is highly adjustable to fit any amount of yarn!
