joining liesl in her monthly sock challenge ~ these are my October pick

project notes ::

• finally have enough socks under my belt to feel confidence knitting a pattern written for two circulars/magic loop with my wooden dp’s ~ not sure I could have wrapped my head around the pattern when I knit my first socks ~ I love my dp’s ~ I did break my first one on this pair and have decided I need to invest in a metal set (I knit so tightly I’m sure I’ll have more snap so better give in and find a nice set)

• I’m going through an old shale / feather and fan phase and was happy to find these socks with this traditional lace pattern (I just finished a blanket and have another on the needles ~ both feather and fan as well)

• loved the Hazel Knits artisan sock as usual ~ not my first time using it and definitely not my last ~ the colors are deep and rich and it’s finally nice to be using it for socks although I love the shawls I’ve knit with their yarns as well

• skein was heavy (128.0g) - pair used 99.5g (332yds)

• 14 rounds ribbing / pattern repeat x15 (7”) / only did 16 row heel flap / when picking up gusset stitches I also knit thru back loop at that time to tighten / toe did Row 1-2 x9 then just decrease row til 24st left
