January pair for monthly sock challenge with Liesl

yarn was a gift from willyg for my sock sanity stash :)

hand dyed yarn…how did I get so lucky?

• note about the yarn : what the heck? I noticed as I was winding this for socks today that there were 4 places where the plies (spelling?) were broken and had to be cut out? I’ve never seen anything like this in a skein…kind of a bummer since this yarn is gorgeous but I’m hesitant to buy any in the future after seeing this? anyway, decided to make anklets with this yarn instead of full socks since I’m not even sure I found all the splits after winding it twice…

only giving the yarn 3 out of 5 stars ~ it frayed in 3 more places while I was knitting with it….grrrrrr….if I try it again and find that it was just this skein, I’ll give it a higher rating…

project notes ::

• really fun knit ~ lots of seaming but I like to do the finish work a lot so it was really interesting and fun for me

• the pair only used 29.5g of yarn

• knit pattern exactly as written ~ I’ll make these again but need to go down a needle size for sure…they’re just a bit too loose for my foot so a tighter gauge would be better for me (I’ve also got some ideas about how I want to modify them a bit to stay on my ankle a little better, too)
