Instead of the hand dyed yarn that the pattern calls for, I used a solid color and knit in lots and lots of scrap yarn (mostly fingering weight and some silk mohair held double). I think that the streaks of color highlights the construction and the fact that parts of the cardigan is knitted sideways.

Modifications:
Made a provisional cast on at the back, put the stitches of the front pieces on hold, so instead of picking up stitches for the hem I had live stitches at the fronts and back. Followed the stitch count for size 6 at the hem due to the fact that my row count was a bit off.
Lenghtened the body by appr 5 cm and consequently followed the instructions for size 6 or 7 when picking up stitches for the button bands.
