Going to knit these in the round, starting from the hand up so I can control the length.
Need to make extra sure to note all of the rows I make changes on/complete as I’ll be knitting one at a time.
Pattern mentions switching needle size to change gauge, which I assume is using the larger needle to knit the hand.
Thumbhole is 12 rows long.
Pattern is 8 stitch, 4 row repeat
(In round)
k2, p2, k2, p2
k2, p2, yo, ssk, p2
k2, p2, k2, p2
k2, p2, k2tog, yo, p2

Planning to c/o 40 stitches
20-08-2018
Started knitting thumbhole after row 16
Ended thumbhole after row 28.
Hand feels a little loose, so I might change to either 3.5mm or 3.25mm needles after one repeat.
If I knit these again, I should have the start/end between the knit column of the pattern so the thumbhole is neater around the edges.
The second glove will need to start with the knit+decrease columns first so it’ll match better.
These armwarmers are going to be gifted to my mum and I’ll be knitting another narrower pair for myself later.
Going to knit about 2 inches past the wrist.

Next glove will need to have the yo before the ssk wrapped around the needle instead of just over the top.
Having problems with one row of yo being noticeable smaller than the other, especially with smaller needles

Just so it’s all together:
c/o 40 sts
(In round)
k2, p2, k2, p2
k2, p2, yo, ssk, p2
k2, p2, k2, p2
k2, p2, k2tog, yo, p2
Knit back and forward for thumbhole
Thumbhole starts at 17
Thumbhole ends at 28
Switch to 3.5mm after round 32
b/o after round 52 using sewn bind-off
(Might need to pay attention to the direction of bind-off so it matches the cast-on)
22-08-2018
Finished first armwarmer!
32g of yarn left.
Did the sewn bind-off in the opposite direction, but I might try knitting the first stitch before turning. I had to sew up a hole between the bind-off beginning and end.
